Parliamentary Committee to Discuss NEET-UG 2026 Exam Paper Leak Issues

A parliamentary committee, led by MP M. Thambidurai, is set to convene to discuss the NEET-UG 2026 exam paper leak and the CBSE Class 12 re-evaluation controversy. The meeting will include senior officials from the Ministries of Education and Health, as well as representatives from the National Testing Agency and the CBI. This comes amid growing concerns over alleged irregularities in the examination process. The CBI has already arrested 13 individuals in connection with the case, revealing a broader network behind the leaks. Meeting of Parliamentary Committee on Government Assurances

A meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Government Assurances, chaired by Rajya Sabha MP M. Thambidurai, is scheduled for Friday at the Parliament House's annex building. The agenda includes discussions on the alleged NEET-UG 2026 exam paper leak and the CBSE Class 12 re-evaluation controversy. This session will commence at 11 AM and will involve senior officials from the Ministries of Education and Health, along with representatives from key agencies involved in the administration and investigation of national examinations.

According to official sources, the committee will hear insights from the Secretary of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, the Director General of the National Testing Agency (NTA), and the Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The panel is also expected to engage with the Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department, the Chairperson of the National Medical Commission (NMC), and the CBI Director. This meeting comes amid rising concerns regarding alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG 2026 examination process and demands for accountability from various stakeholders.




Meanwhile, the CBI arrested two more individuals on Wednesday in connection with the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case, bringing the total number of arrests to 13. According to the agency, one of the accused, Dr. Manoj Shirure from Latur, allegedly assisted three students in obtaining leaked chemistry question papers through another accused, P.V. Kulkarni. One of the students reportedly is the son of a coaching center owner already under investigation.

The second accused, Tejas Harshadkumar Shah, is a faculty member in Physics at Dr. Abhang Prabhu Medical Academy in Pune. Investigators allege that he received leaked physics question papers from another arrested individual, Manisha Hawaldar. The CBI has stated that the investigation is ongoing to uncover the extensive network and conspiracy behind the leak. The agency has conducted searches at 49 locations across the country and seized numerous documents, laptops, and mobile phones. Officials reported that a detailed examination of the seized materials is currently underway.
