Coordinated Military Operations in Peshawar

Peshawar: In a significant military operation, security forces executed synchronized ground and aerial assaults targeting militant positions along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. This initiative aimed at dismantling numerous posts utilized by the Afghan Taliban and the group referred to as Fitna al-Khawarij, officials reported on Thursday.

The term Fitna al-Khawarij is employed by the government to describe the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

As per security sources, the Pakistan Army effectively conducted operations overnight from Wednesday to Thursday, targeting 41 militant posts associated with both the Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij.

The operations involved the deployment of both light and heavy weaponry.

Strikes were concentrated in border regions near Chaman, Zhob, Qila Saifullah, and Noshki, where militant hideouts were specifically targeted, according to officials.

Preliminary assessments suggest that the militants incurred substantial casualties and losses in equipment due to these operations.

Security officials emphasized that these actions are part of 'Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq,' asserting that the military efforts will persist until all set objectives are fully realized.

Pakistan initiated 'Operation Ghazab lil Haq' last week following assaults by Afghan Taliban forces on 53 sites along the extensive 2,611 km border.

Since October, the relationship between Pakistan and Afghanistan has deteriorated significantly.
