Pakistani PM Shehbaz Sharif Faces Backlash Over Social Media Blunder

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stirred controversy with a social media post that mistakenly included the word 'Draft.' This blunder has led to speculation about the authenticity of his statements, with critics suggesting that his messages may be influenced by foreign powers. As he calls for a ceasefire extension in Iran, the unusual phrasing has raised eyebrows and sparked humorous reactions online. The situation highlights ongoing diplomatic tensions in the region and the challenges faced by Sharif's administration.

Shehbaz Sharif's Controversial Social Media Post

Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, has once again become the subject of international scrutiny and ridicule due to a 'technical error.' Amid the Iran-US ceasefire, a peace proposal he posted on the social media platform X has sparked controversy. The inclusion of the word 'Draft' in his post has led to speculation about whether his official statements are being scripted by Washington or another foreign entity. The draft clearly stated, 'Draft – Pakistan’s PM Message on X.'

In his post, Sharif urged the United States to extend the ceasefire deadline in Iran and called on Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. While the content of the message was straightforward, the odd presence of the word 'Draft' in an official statement caught the public's attention.

Experts are questioning whether this was merely a minor mistake from Pakistan's communication team or if it indicates a more concerning issue—that perhaps the message was not crafted by the country's leadership.

Further fueling this speculation is the language of the draft, which referred to the Prime Minister as 'Pakistan’s PM' instead of using his name directly. Critics argue that this makes the post seem less like a personal message from Sharif and more like a pre-prepared template. Netizens have suggested that it is highly likely that this message was either written by the US or Israel.

One user posted on X, 'The US wrote a draft tweet for him.'

Another user commented that the Prime Minister simply copy-pasted the tweet along with the instructions provided to him. Many users on X shared humorous memes about Sharif's blunder, stating, 'If the Prime Minister of Pakistan can't even post a tweet correctly, how can he run the country?'

US-Iran Ceasefire Deal

President Donald Trump announced a two-week halt to planned military strikes against Iran. He shared this decision on his social media platform, Truth Social, just before the deadline, which had raised concerns over escalating tensions.

According to Trump, this temporary suspension of attacks was implemented because Iran agreed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. This waterway is crucial for global oil shipments and has been disrupted due to Iranian attacks for some time.
