Pakistan Extends Airspace Ban on Indian Flights Until August 24

Pakistan has announced an extension of its airspace ban on Indian aircraft until August 24. This decision affects all Indian-registered flights and is part of ongoing tensions following the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives last year. In retaliation, India has imposed a reciprocal ban on Pakistani flights. The airspace closure reflects the strained relations between the two countries, which have seen increased restrictions on aviation since the attack. Read on to learn more about the implications of this ongoing situation.

Airspace Restrictions Continue

Karachi: On Saturday, Pakistan announced an extension of its airspace closure for Indian aircraft, which will now last until August 24, as per the country's airports authority.

This restriction specifically targets Indian-registered, operated, owned, and leased aircraft, as detailed in a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) released by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA).

The ban on both military and civilian Indian flights using Pakistani airspace remains firmly in place.

In response, India has implemented a similar airspace ban affecting all Pakistani-registered aircraft, airlines, and military operations. This measure was introduced following the Pahalgam terror attack last year that resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals.

The airspace between the two nations has been closed to each other's airlines since the tensions escalated after the Pahalgam incident.
