Pakistan Announces Squad for Upcoming T20 Series and Asia Cup 2025

The Pakistan Cricket Board has officially announced its squad for the upcoming T20 tri-series and the Asia Cup 2025, which will take place in the UAE. Salman Agha has been appointed as the captain, while notable players Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have been excluded from this major tournament under the new head coach, Mike Hesson. The tri-series will kick off on August 29, featuring matches against the UAE and Afghanistan, followed by participation in the Asia Cup starting September 9.

Despite the absence of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, the squad includes experienced players such as fast bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf, along with reliable batsmen Fakhar Zaman and Khushdil Shah. Star wicketkeeper Mohammad Haris has also retained his position. The selectors have shown confidence in young talents like Hasan Nawaz, Salman Mirza, and Sufiyan Mokeem.

In the Asia Cup 2025, Pakistan has been placed in Group A alongside India, Oman, and the UAE. Pakistan will commence its campaign against Oman on September 12, followed by a highly anticipated match against India on September 14. However, the confirmation of this match remains to be seen.
