Incident Overview

In Amaravati district, Maharashtra, more than 100 tribal students from three residential schools were admitted to the hospital following complaints of suspected food poisoning. This information was confirmed by officials on Monday.

Siddharth Shukla, the Tribal Development Project Officer in Dharani, stated that a police complaint has been filed against the operator of the central kitchen responsible for supplying food to these schools.

Symptoms and Hospitalization

After consuming their meals at the residential schools, several students reported experiencing vomiting. On Saturday, 69 students were admitted to a government hospital in Dharani. The following day, 70 more students from the government residential schools in Bijudhavadi and Sawalikheda exhibited similar symptoms and were also hospitalized.

Current Health Status

Most of the children have since been discharged from the hospital, while 32 students remain under medical supervision. Fortunately, their condition is reported to be stable.
