In a significant move to enhance transparency in early childhood education, Punjab's Minister Dr. Baljeet Kaur has announced the upcoming launch of an online registration portal for private play-way schools. This initiative mandates all such institutions to register with the Department of Social Security within six months. The government aims to improve the quality of early childhood education through new guidelines and a standardized, play-based curriculum for children aged 3 to 6. Additionally, partnerships with leading educational organizations will help implement a shared curriculum in anganwadi centers, ensuring quality educational services for young learners.

Punjab News (Media House), Chandigarh: Dr. Baljeet Kaur, the state's Minister for Social Security, Women and Child Development, announced that an online registration portal will soon be launched to enhance transparency in the registration process for private play-way schools.


Instructions Issued to District Program Officers

In further details, Dr. Kaur stated that all private play-way schools and Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) institutions are required to complete their registration within six months. She mentioned that directives have already been issued to district program officers to ensure the registration process is effectively implemented on the online portal.


Focus on Holistic Development of Children

The cabinet minister emphasized the importance of improving the quality of early childhood education. New guidelines have been approved by the Punjab government to regulate private play-way schools. A standardized, play-based curriculum will be introduced to ensure the holistic development of children aged 3 to 6 years.


Government Advocates Shared Curriculum Implementation

Dr. Kaur further explained that the Punjab government has signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with two key institutions, Pratham and Rocket Learning, to implement a shared curriculum aimed at providing quality educational services in anganwadi centers and expanding access to Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE).
