Speculation Surrounds Annie Guthrie and Tommaso Cioni

The residence of Annie Guthrie and Tommaso Cioni has once again become a focal point of online rumors as the investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, Savannah Guthrie's mother, continues. Jonathan Lee Riches, who identifies himself as an investigator and shares updates on social media, alleged that the couple has vacated their home located near Tucson, Arizona. He referenced an unnamed neighbor who purportedly stated that Annie and Tommaso had not been seen for over a week, and their vehicle was absent from the premises. However, no concrete evidence has been presented to substantiate this claim.

This renewed scrutiny coincides with the ongoing search for Nancy Guthrie, aged 84, who authorities believe was kidnapped from her Catalina Foothills residence on the evening prior to February 1. Investigators suspect that Nancy had dinner with Annie and Tommaso that night before they drove her home, making them among the last individuals to see her before she was reported missing the next day. Despite this, officials have consistently clarified that Annie and Tommaso are not considered suspects in the case. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has stated that none of the Guthrie family members are viewed as suspects in the investigation.

Savannah Guthrie has publicly supported Annie and Tommaso, asserting that they cared deeply for Nancy and would never harm her. Speculation surrounding the couple intensified earlier in the investigation when authorities delayed the return of their vehicle, although investigators did not label them as suspects. Riches commented on X, stating, "The Sheriff cleared Annie & Tommaso, so they are free to go. They totally left their home. Haven’t been there in over a week. Car gone. Same home authorities treated like a crime scene."

Authorities have officially designated only Nancy Guthrie’s residence as a crime scene, where DNA evidence has been collected. They have not classified Annie and Tommaso’s property as a crime scene. In another post, Riches remarked, "Mainstream media spotlight was shining on Annie & Tommaso's home 24/7 when Nancy Guthrie first went missing." The couple's involvement in the investigation was further fueled by comments from former NewsNation presenter Ashleigh Banfield, who suggested that Tommaso Cioni might be a suspect. However, the Pima County Sheriff's Department later dismissed these claims. Former FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer also weighed in on the circulating rumors, indicating that the couple might simply be seeking to avoid public scrutiny.
