Strengthening Industrial Connections
Bhubaneswar/Ahmedabad: Following successful promotional events in Hyderabad and Kolkata, Odisha is gearing up to enhance its investment initiatives in Gujarat. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will commence a three-day trip to the western state on Tuesday.
This visit aims to establish a robust industrial connection between the eastern and western regions of India, leveraging Gujarat's manufacturing prowess while unveiling new prospects in Odisha's rapidly growing sectors.
The focus will be on textiles, chemicals and petrochemicals, metals and downstream industries, as well as pharmaceuticals. This outreach is anticipated to attract investment interest from the western coast of India and will also foster connections with the Odia community in Gujarat, linking them to the state's development narrative.
Prior to the trip, the Chief Minister remarked, “Odisha is swiftly becoming a favored destination for investment, backed by solid infrastructure and a skilled workforce. This outreach to Gujarat will unlock new avenues for our citizens and generate employment across vital sectors in the state.
We view this three-day visit as a pivotal step towards drawing investments and inviting industry stakeholders to join Odisha’s growth journey towards a prosperous Odisha by 2036.” Reports indicate that a major investors’ roadshow is scheduled in Ahmedabad on May 5, accompanied by roundtable discussions with prominent business leaders and individual meetings with key industry figures, facilitating targeted and productive interactions.
Numerous Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and investment intention agreements are expected to be finalized, showcasing the increasing investor confidence in Odisha. The discussions will focus on high-potential sectors such as chemicals and petrochemicals, metals and downstream industries, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, as well as textiles and apparel.
