Odisha Schools Set to Reopen: What Parents Need to Know
Schools in Odisha to Resume Classes Soon
Bhubaneswar: Nityananda Gond, the Minister for School and Mass Education in Odisha, announced on Monday that all educational institutions, including both government and private schools, will reopen on June 18 following the summer break.
The summer vacation commenced on April 27 due to rising temperatures across various districts in the state.
"The government prioritizes the education of our students. With the arrival of the monsoon, temperatures have started to decrease. Therefore, schools will resume on June 18," Gond informed the press.
He also mentioned that if extreme heat persists on the reopening day, further measures will be evaluated to ensure the students' well-being.
Additionally, the government is making arrangements to distribute textbooks to students promptly.
Typically, the summer break lasts from May 6 to June 17, but due to the prevailing heat wave, the government opted for an earlier start to the vacation.
