Exciting Preparations for Yoga Mahotsav-2025
Bhubaneswar: Odisha is preparing to celebrate 'Yoga Mahotsav-2025' on Monday, marking the 75-day countdown to International Yoga Day, which falls on June 21.
The event is being organized by the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) under the Ministry of Ayush, as confirmed by Monalisa Dash, the joint secretary of Ayush, on Sunday.
This significant occasion, which aligns with World Health Day, will showcase a grand demonstration of the common yoga protocol from 6:30 am to 8 am at Kalinga Stadium, attended by various dignitaries.
Union Minister of State for Ayush and Health and Family Welfare, Prataprao Jadhav, is expected to be present at the event.
Dash emphasized the importance of the common yoga protocol, stating, "It serves as the foundation for the International Day of Yoga (IDY) and is available in 22 languages. Last year, we introduced a Braille version of the Common Yoga Protocol to enhance inclusivity."
So far, over 24 crore individuals have participated in IDY events, with participation numbers rising each year.
"We take pride in the increasing global involvement, consistently breaking records each year," Dash remarked.
"As we celebrate a decade of IDY, preparations are underway for its 11th edition, and we anticipate setting a new participation record this year."
In honor of this milestone, the ministry is hosting ten signature events as part of the grand yoga festival, including Yoga Sangama, Yoga Bandhan, Yoga Parks, Yoga Samavesh, Yoga Prabhava, Yoga Connect, Harit Yoga, Yoga Unplugged, Yoga Maha Kumbh, and Sam Yogam, according to the joint secretary.
"These events will be supported by a range of impactful initiatives and activities nationwide leading up to IDY 2025," she added.
