Bhubaneswar, August 9 - Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Chandra Majhi made a heartfelt appeal to the 'Gen Z' demographic on Sunday, urging them not to fall prey to external forces that aim to mislead them and weaken India on the global stage. During the launch of the state-level 'Har Ghar Tiranga' initiative, Majhi emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working to empower the youth of the nation, yet they are being misled by foreign influences.

Majhi stated, "I call upon 'Gen Z' to be vigilant against these external forces and unseen enemies that operate from foreign lands, attempting to misguide our youth through social media. The Prime Minister is striving to empower the youth, but in this digital age, they are being led astray by outside powers." He expressed confidence that these invisible forces would never succeed in their objectives.

He advised the youth to prioritize patriotism, asserting that their unified voice is crucial for the safety of the nation. Majhi claimed that certain external entities are trying to mislead 'Gen Z' through digital media campaigns, referring to this generation as those born between 1997 and 2012.

This group, often termed digital natives, has grown up with technology, the internet, and social media, which are integral to their lives. The Chief Minister urged today's youth to distance themselves from such influences and work towards national unity.

Majhi asserted that the youth would not bend to the designs of external forces, stating, "No external power can weaken the youth of India. The purpose of today's Tiranga Yatra is to stand united and give a strong response to these external threats." He described the youth as the future of India, believing they will help the country evolve into a 'Vishwaguru' (world leader).

He called upon all the youth of Odisha to step forward and contribute to building a developed India. This statement from the Chief Minister came a day after BJP MP Dharmendra Pradhan from Sambalpur claimed that attempts were made to mislead 'Gen Z' during protests over the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) paper leak, which led to his resignation as the Union Education Minister.

Pradhan remarked, "Gen Z are our children. Some individuals attempted to mislead them. I had no personal issues in this matter. Every year, at least 20 million children are born in India, totaling 200 million over the past decade. They have their aspirations and will help make India a 'Vishwaguru'. For me, the position was not important."
