Arrest of Assistant Engineer in Odisha


In Bhubaneswar, an assistant engineer was taken into custody on Wednesday by the Vigilance Department for allegedly holding assets that are significantly higher than his declared income sources. This arrest followed a series of raids on his properties and offices conducted a day earlier.


According to the Vigilance Department's statement, the engineer was presented before the special judge in Bhubaneswar, facing charges related to possessing disproportionate assets amounting to 317% more than what he could justifiably account for.


Additionally, the vigilance team has initiated searches at the properties of another assistant engineer, who is reportedly a close associate of the arrested individual.
