Major Drug Trafficking Crackdown


In a significant operation against drug-related crimes, the Nurpur Police have confiscated assets valued at ₹3,32,30,941 from Balwinder, also known as Billa, who is the son of Gyan Chand and resides in Channi village, Tehsil Indora, District Kangra.


The police initiated the case on 29 December 2025, under the NDPS Act Sections 20 and 29 at the Damtal Police Station, where they apprehended the accused and seized 1.852 kg of charas.

Investigation into Financial Assets

During the investigation, authorities uncovered various movable and immovable properties associated with drug trafficking activities.


The seized assets comprised land, a hotel and restaurant, shops, vehicles, and bank accounts.


The total estimated value of these assets reached ₹3.32 crore, which has been frozen and reported to the relevant authorities in New Delhi.


On 9 September 2026, the authorities validated the seizure order, confirming that these assets were obtained through illegal drug operations.


Continued Efforts Against Drug Trafficking

As of 10 September 2026, the Nurpur Police have successfully seized assets totaling ₹29.95 crore across 17 different cases. Additional cases are currently under review by the competent authority in Delhi.

Officials have emphasized that the crackdown on drug traffickers will persist vigorously to dismantle the narcotics network and protect the youth from the dangers of addiction.
