In a robust effort to combat illegal mining, the Nurpur Police have ramped up their operations, conducting thorough inspections and patrols throughout the district. This initiative has led to the confiscation of several vehicles and machinery linked to unlawful mining activities.
During a recent operation in the Warikhad region, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Damtal, authorities intercepted a TATA truck (registration number PB-35-U-4289) that was transporting mining materials without the necessary documentation. The driver was unable to present valid papers, resulting in an immediate mining challan. Further legal proceedings are currently in progress.
In another incident, a police team from Police Post Dhangupir, also under PS Damtal, seized a tractor that was involved in illegal mining operations. A challan has been filed under the Mining Act, and the case will be submitted to the Hon’ble Court of JMFC Indora for judicial review.
Additionally, the Police Post Kotla, operating under PS Jawali, took action in the Kotla Khad area, where they confiscated an L&T machine engaged in illegal mining activities.
The Nurpur Police have reiterated their dedication to persist in their efforts against illegal mining. Officials have issued a stern warning that strict legal measures will be enforced against anyone found participating in such illicit activities.
