Nurpur Police Intensifies Crackdown on Drug Trafficking with Latest Arrest

Significant Progress in Drug Enforcement Efforts

The Nurpur Police District has made a notable advancement in its dedicated campaign against drug-related crimes. Utilizing both technical analysis and human intelligence, law enforcement officials have apprehended Sanjay Kumar (24), the son of Sher Singh, from Village Kundal in Tehsil Salooni, District Chamba, Himachal Pradesh.


This arrest represents the fourth individual taken into custody in connection with FIR No. 41/26, which was filed on April 13, 2026, at the Rehan Police Station under various sections of the NDPS Act.



  • On the day of the incident, two suspects, Robin and Yusuf, both from Chamba, were apprehended with 1.210 kg of charas.

  • Following this, police conducted a backward linkage investigation that led to the arrest of Shukrdeen, also a Chamba resident.

  • Now, in a further development of the case, Sanjay Kumar has been taken into custody.


The Nurpur Police have stated that their investigation aims to dismantle the entire drug network. Authorities are actively exploring the connections of other individuals involved in this illicit trade. The district police have firmly declared that anyone associated with narcotics trafficking will face severe legal consequences.
