In a significant breakthrough against drug trafficking, the police in Nurpur district have confiscated 42.64 grams of heroin (chitta) and apprehended a suspect during a recent operation.
Following a tip-off, a collaborative effort by the CIA unit and Dumtal Police Station involved monitoring sensitive locations such as Kandwal, Lodhwán, Dumtal, and Channi. Near Toki, law enforcement received reliable information indicating that Kuldeep Kumar, son of Gosha, a resident of Sangehad village in Indora, was orchestrating an illegal drug distribution network from his home.
Adhering to legal protocols and with independent witnesses present, the police executed a search warrant at the suspect's residence, leading to the recovery of the narcotics. The suspect was taken into custody at the scene.
Legal Proceedings
A case has been filed against the suspect under Section 21 of the ND&PS Act at Dumtal Police Station. Investigators are currently working to uncover the supply chain and identify both the source of the drugs and their intended distribution.
The Nurpur Police have reaffirmed their commitment to a “zero tolerance” policy towards drug trafficking and have urged the community to assist in combating the drug menace.
