NTA Clarifies NEET UG 2026 Refund Procedures

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an important update regarding the fee refund process for NEET UG 2026. Candidates have been assured that all eligible refunds will be directly credited to the bank accounts provided on the official examination portal, which have been verified. This clarification comes in response to reports of cyber fraud attempts targeting NEET candidates, prompting a thorough review of the refund process.

The agency emphasized that having accurate and verified banking information will prevent delays in the refund process, ensuring that eligible candidates receive their refunds without any hassle. In a social media post on X, NTA stated that all candidates will receive their refunds directly into the bank account or the refund details they have updated on the official portal. Candidates are advised to keep their refund details accurate and up-to-date on the portal to avoid any potential delays.

NTA also announced that candidates who were unable to update their information or mistakenly submitted incorrect account details will be given another opportunity to make corrections after the examination. The agency mentioned that those facing difficulties in updating their bank details or who have submitted incorrect information will have a chance to provide the correct details post-exam. Additionally, NTA has issued an advisory warning candidates and their parents about cyber fraud and phishing attempts related to the refund process. The agency urged students to be cautious of fake calls, text messages, emails, social media messages, or suspicious links that claim to expedite, verify, or simplify the refund process.

NTA has warned that scammers may impersonate officials to obtain sensitive financial or personal information and advised candidates not to share such information with anyone. The agency reiterated that it never requests OTPs, passwords, UPI PINs, or any payment details to process refunds. For any inquiries, candidates can contact NTA's official helpdesk at: http://neet.nta.nic.in and http://nta.ac.in.
