According to Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, the Chief Public Relations Officer of NFR, this expansion features a diverse range of train services, including premium, semi-premium, and conventional options, designed to enhance railway connections within the Northeast and with other regions of India.

Sharma emphasized that this initiative demonstrates NFR's ongoing dedication to enhancing accessibility, the quality of passenger services, and the overall travel experience across its network.

One of the standout features of this expansion is the introduction of advanced train services, particularly the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express, which will operate between Kamakhya and Howrah, providing a modern, high-speed overnight travel experience with improved amenities for passengers.

Additionally, seven pairs of Amrit Bharat Express services have been launched to offer affordable yet comfortable long-distance travel, connecting important locations such as Nagercoil, Tiruchchirappalli, Gomti Nagar, Rohtak, Bengaluru, Panvel, and Charlapalli. Another notable addition is the Rajdhani Express, which will connect Sairang with Delhi, significantly enhancing the link between Mizoram and the national capital. To further bolster long-distance travel, the Sairang-Kolkata-Sairang Express has also been introduced.

On a regional scale, new trains like the Sairang-Guwahati-Sairang Express, Silchar-Sairang-Silchar Express, NJP-Guwahati-NJP Express, and Agartala-Narangi-Agartala Express have been launched to improve intra-zone connectivity.

Sharma concluded by stating that the newly introduced services consist of a combination of express and passenger trains operating on daily, weekly, and bi-weekly schedules across key routes in the zone. These services are anticipated to significantly enhance regional integration and facilitate economic mobility.

He further noted that this expansion is in line with the broader vision of Indian Railways to strengthen last-mile connectivity, promote tourism, and support socio-economic development in the Northeast. With services operating at various frequencies, these new trains are expected to play a crucial role in enhancing regional integration and mobility.
