Police Encounter Leads to Arrest in Noida

Noida, July 28 - The police in Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, apprehended a suspect linked to cow slaughter during an encounter early Tuesday morning. Authorities confirmed the incident.


According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Ravi Shankar Nim, the arrested individual has been identified as Mehtab, a resident of Doula Rajpur. He explained that during a routine patrol, officers noticed four suspicious young men near a motorcycle. When the police attempted to stop them, the suspects opened fire.


In the ensuing exchange, Mehtab sustained a gunshot wound to his leg and was subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment, while his three accomplices managed to escape. Police reports indicate that Mehtab has multiple cases registered against him for cow slaughter.


Authorities recovered several items from him, including a country-made pistol, a stolen motorcycle, weapons used in animal slaughter, a knife, narcotic injections, plastic ropes, and a gun. Efforts to locate the fleeing suspects are ongoing.
