Significant Relief for Residents Near Bhangeal Elevated Road

Residents living around the Bhangeal Elevated Road in Noida have received encouraging news. The Noida Authority has expedited the process of installing sound barriers on the Bhangeal flyover to mitigate vehicle noise. Official tenders have been issued for this initiative, which comes in response to ongoing complaints from local residents since the elevated corridor's opening in November 2025. Many have expressed that the incessant noise from heavy traffic has made their lives unbearable.

Addressing Local Concerns

The decision to install sound barriers was prompted by the grievances of residents living adjacent to the elevated corridor. They reported significant disturbances due to the increased noise levels following the road's inauguration.

Details of the Sound Barrier Project

"We have invited bids for the installation of noise barriers along the elevated road. This project will cover junctions 10, 11, and 12 near sectors 42, 47, 48, 49, 107, and 110. The aim is to reduce traffic noise for nearby residential areas," stated A.K. Arora, General Manager of the Noida Authority.

According to reports, the estimated cost of this project is ₹18.8 crores, with an expected completion timeline of two months. The deadline for bid submissions is June 1, and the tenders will be opened on June 2.

Specifications of the Sound Barriers

The sound barriers will consist of 120 mm thick aluminum soundproof panels filled with high-density rock wool, designed to absorb noise. Each panel will measure 1.3 meters in height and 3 meters in width.

Additionally, the aluminum sheets used for the barriers will feature a special powder-coated finish for durability and weather resistance. The agency awarded the tender will be responsible for the supply, installation, and fixing of the entire noise barrier system.

Overview of the Bhangeal Flyover

The Bhangeal flyover, which spans 5.5 kilometers and consists of six lanes, was constructed at a cost of ₹608 crores. Its primary purpose is to alleviate traffic congestion and reduce travel time between Noida and Greater Noida/Dadri areas. This flyover has significantly eased congestion on the heavily trafficked Dadri-Surajpur-Chhalera (DSC) road for travelers heading to nearby villages such as Salarpur, Chhalera, Barola, Bhangeal, and Agahapur.

However, due to its passage through densely populated areas, residents have consistently complained about the relentless noise from traffic. Many homes located near the elevated road have been adversely affected by this noise.
