Nitish Kumar's Transition: From Chief Minister to Rajya Sabha Member
Transition of Nitish Kumar's Official Residence
Before formally resigning from his position as Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar's belongings are being moved from his official residence. This development occurred just a day after he took the oath as a member of the Rajya Sabha. According to sources, his items are being relocated from the Chief Minister's official residence at 1 Anee Marg in Patna to another government bungalow located at 7 Circular Road in the city.
Preparation for New Residence
It is anticipated that his residence at 1 Anee Marg will be completely vacated only after he steps down from the chief ministerial role. Sources indicate that the house on 7 Circular Road has already been prepared for his arrival. This location has previously served as Kumar's residence; for instance, in 2014, when Jitan Ram Manjhi became Chief Minister, he stayed at this very house. Additionally, during Kumar's tenure, whenever repairs were needed at the official bungalow, he temporarily relocated to the 7 Circular Road residence.
Historic Achievement in Rajya Sabha
On Friday, Nitish Kumar made history by taking the oath as a member of the Rajya Sabha. He has now joined the ranks of a select group of leaders in Bihar who have served in all four legislative bodies: Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, Vidhan Sabha, and Vidhan Parishad. This accomplishment places him among those who have extensive experience in legislative processes.
Notable Members of the Exclusive Club
This distinguished group also includes prominent figures such as Lalu Prasad Yadav, the late Sushil Kumar Modi from the BJP, Upendra Kushwaha of the Rashtriya Lok Morcha, and former Union Minister Nagmani. Political analyst Arun Kumar Pandey believes that having experience in all four houses provides any leader with a comprehensive understanding of legislative processes.
