Members and leaders of the JD(U) have been vocal about their desire for Nishant to enter politics. Notably, during this meeting, Nitish Kumar mentioned that even after becoming a member of the Rajya Sabha, he would continue to oversee party affairs.

Nishant Expected to Become Bihar's Next Deputy CM

With Nitish Kumar moving to the upper house, it is anticipated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will have its first Chief Minister in Bihar. Sources indicated on Friday that Nishant is likely to be appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister. There are also calls for Nitish to be made the JD(U) chief, as his leadership could help prevent divisions within the party. Discussions are ongoing regarding other potential candidates for the top position, including Union Minister Lalan Singh, Bihar Ministers Ashok Chaudhary and Vijay Chaudhary, and Sanjay Kumar Jha.
