Lucknow Super Giants' Recent Performance

Nicholas Pooran: The Lucknow Super Giants, under the captaincy of Rishabh Pant, have been facing significant challenges lately. In the ongoing IPL 2026 season, the team has played five matches, suffering defeats in three of them. Last night, they faced the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who triumphed with a five-wicket victory.

Reasons Behind LSG's Continuous Losses

Currently sitting in seventh place, the Lucknow Super Giants have lost three out of their first five matches this season. Acting captain Nicholas Pooran, stepping in for the injured Rishabh Pant, shared insights during the post-match ceremony.

“This has been a tough season for us. Our batting hasn't met expectations. A score of 175 could have been competitive, but it’s no secret that we’ve struggled with our batting throughout the season, and we paid the price for it today.”

Pooran Reflects on His Own Performance

Nicholas Pooran managed to score only one run in the recent match, bringing his total to 42 runs at an average of 8.40 over five matches this season. Despite this, he remains optimistic about his return to form.

“I feel good about my batting and am hitting the ball well. Unfortunately, things haven't gone my way in this tournament, but I've been in this situation before and know how to bounce back. I’m confident I will overcome this.”
