Pace Trio Recalled After Injury Layoffs

New Zealand has announced the inclusion of their pace trio—Matt Fisher, Will O'Rourke, and Blair Tickner—for the upcoming white-ball series against Bangladesh scheduled for next month. This fast-bowling group is making a comeback to international cricket after recovering from injuries sustained during the home summer season. O'Rourke will participate in the ODI series, while Fisher is set to join the T20I squad, and Tickner will be part of both teams.

Latham to Lead; Foxcroft Earns Recall

With regular white-ball captain Mitchell Santner unavailable, Test captain Tom Latham will take charge of both teams during the tour. Additionally, off-spinning all-rounder Dean Foxcroft has been recalled to the white-ball setup, marking his return to the national team since his last T20I appearance in April 2024, following a strong performance in domestic cricket.

Looking Ahead

New Zealand aims to recover from a challenging T20I series defeat against South Africa at home, while Bangladesh seeks to maintain their momentum after a successful ODI series victory over Pakistan.

Coach Pleased with Bowling Depth

Head Coach Rob Walter expressed satisfaction with the depth of his bowling options ahead of this important white-ball tour in challenging subcontinental conditions. "Will, Blair, and Matt have dedicated themselves to returning to fitness and selection contention, and we are thrilled to have them back in the squad. In today's cricketing landscape, having a robust bowling lineup is essential. The return of players of their caliber is a significant boost for our team," Walter stated.
