Solan (Himachal Pradesh):
On the morning of New Year’s Day, a significant explosion occurred in a residential area adjacent to the Nalagarh police station in Solan district, creating widespread panic among local residents.
The blast took place in a narrow alley near the police station, resulting in shattered windows of nearby structures, including an Army hospital. Residents reported that the sound of the explosion was audible from approximately 400 to 500 meters away.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, a team from the Nalagarh police station quickly arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area. Barricades were erected on both sides of the lane as law enforcement began a thorough investigation. The site remains secured as officials examine the situation from various perspectives.
Baddi SP Vinod Dhiman, along with senior officials, visited the location, and a forensic team was dispatched from Shimla to gather evidence and analyze the blast site. The precise cause of the explosion remains undetermined.
Witnesses described a scene of chaos and fear in the immediate aftermath. Patrons at nearby tea stalls reported being stunned by the sudden, loud noise, while migrant workers nearby noted that the blast caused the ground to tremble and large glass panes to break.
“There was a loud bang, and for a moment, we couldn’t see anything. Large window glasses shattered all around,” recounted one worker, expressing uncertainty about what caused the explosion. As of now, no official comments have been made by the SP or the district police regarding the incident.
