New Stop for Rajdhani Express Enhances Connectivity in Diphu
Celebration of New Stoppage at Diphu Railway Station
DIPHU, March 9: A special event was held on Sunday at the Diphu railway station to commemorate the introduction of a new stop for the Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express train.
The Divisional Railway Manager from the Northeast Frontier Railway invited local MP Amarsing Tisso to serve as the guest of honour, officially inaugurating the train's new stop.
This new stoppage is designed to enhance travel options for residents of Diphu and the nearby hilly regions of Assam. The Rajdhani Express is known for its speed and comfort, connecting Dibrugarh in Upper Assam with New Delhi.
With this new stop in Diphu, it will be significantly easier for locals, students, business professionals, and tourists to access Delhi and other key destinations along the route.
This development follows the Ministry of Railways' approval for additional stops for various trains in Assam, including the Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express at Diphu. This change responds to long-standing demands for improved train services in underserved areas.
Tisso has been a vocal advocate for enhanced train services in the Karbi Anglong region and surrounding districts.
The ceremony commenced at 9 am, coinciding with the train's scheduled arrival or departure. The local community, tour operators, and travelers have embraced this new stop, viewing it as a major advancement for regional transportation, economic development, and overall convenience for residents in this vital area of Northeast India.
