New Report Highlights Growth Potential in India's Sports Startup Sector
Groundbreaking Report on Sports Startup Landscape Released
A significant report titled "India's Sports Startup Ecosystem: Current Status and Emerging Pathways" was launched on Monday by Hari Ranjan Rao, Secretary of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS), at the Sports Authority of India. This report was commissioned by the Association for Sports Industry Professionals (ASIP) in partnership with the Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad.
The study, spearheaded by Kanishka Pandey, who is the Faculty and Head of the Centre for Sports Research & Development at IMT Ghaziabad and a Board Member of ASIP, represents the first industry report published by ASIP. Research for this report commenced in June 2025. The launch event was attended by notable figures including Shaji Prabhakaran (Founder & President, ASIP), Neeraj Jha (Secretary General, ASIP), and others.
This report provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of India's sports startup ecosystem, identifying emerging trends, areas of innovation, and potential growth opportunities. It aims to be a crucial resource for policymakers, industry leaders, investors, and professionals involved in sports development, marking a pivotal moment for ASIP in its mission to foster a knowledge-driven sports industry.

Hari Ranjan Rao expressed his enthusiasm for ASIP's efforts to enhance India's sports sector through research and collaboration.
