New Leadership Installed at Rotary Club Chhoti Kashi Mandi's Interact Club
New Office-Bearers Installed at Takshila School
Mandi: The Rotary Club of Chhoti Kashi Mandi held the second installation ceremony for the Interact Club at Takshila School on Friday, furthering its mission to foster leadership, teamwork, and community service among students. Established last year, the Interact Club welcomed its new office-bearers during this ceremony.
Gopika has taken on the role of President, with Sneha as Secretary, Devarsh as Vice President, and Sumit as Treasurer. Rtn. Sudarshan Kaur, the President-elect of the Rotary Club, officiated the ceremony and administered the oath to the new leaders, outlining their responsibilities and emphasizing that true leadership is rooted in commitment, integrity, and a willingness to serve.
Rotarians Anuradha Sood and Amar Kaur were also present, pinning badges on the newly appointed office-bearers to formally acknowledge their roles.
In her address, Sudarshan Kaur elaborated on Rotary’s mission and dedication to humanitarian efforts. She highlighted how Rotary unites individuals from various professions to address community needs collaboratively. She stressed the importance of instilling these values in young students and noted that Interact Clubs serve as excellent platforms for cultivating leadership skills, social awareness, and a service-oriented mindset.
Rotary trainer Munish Sood emphasized that education should encompass more than just academic success; it should also focus on character development, discipline, compassion, and social responsibility. He encouraged young individuals to become confident and socially responsible citizens.
Referencing Rotary’s motto, “Service Above Self,” Sood explained that it signifies prioritizing the welfare of others over personal interests and contributing to community improvement. He urged students to engage in activities that promote environmental protection, cleanliness, health awareness, education, and support for the underprivileged.
He further articulated that leadership transcends merely holding a title; it involves accepting responsibility, respecting diverse opinions, and inspiring others to work towards shared goals. He encouraged the new office-bearers to engage all club members in activities, welcome new ideas, and maintain effective communication with both the school and the sponsoring Rotary Club.
In their addresses, newly elected President Gopika and Secretary Sneha expressed their dedication to advancing the Interact Club's goals, highlighting the significance of teamwork and active involvement in initiatives that benefit both the school and the broader community.
Interact, a youth program of Rotary International for individuals aged 12 to 18, offers students opportunities to enhance their leadership, organizational, and communication skills through service projects and collaborative efforts.
This second installation ceremony reinforced the Rotary Club Chhoti Kashi Mandi’s commitment to nurturing responsible citizens and future community leaders. The ongoing activities of the Interact Club will provide Takshila School students with a platform to transform their ideas into action, foster a spirit of volunteerism, and positively impact society in alignment with the principle of Service Above Self.
