New High-Performance Training Camp Launched for Athletes in Guwahati
Introduction to the Training Camp
A new high-performance training camp has been inaugurated in Guwahati, aimed at athletes and coaches from seven different sports. This initiative is a collaboration between the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare of Assam and the Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS). The training sessions for chess, table tennis, and tennis commenced on Saturday, while taekwondo training is set to begin tomorrow.
Inauguration and Objectives
The camp was officially launched in the presence of Kausar J Hilaly, the Secretary of Sports and Youth Welfare for Assam. This program aims to provide high-performance training in Taekwondo, Athletics, and Archery through internationally recognized standards, while the other sports—chess, table tennis, tennis, and swimming—are directly supported by the Department.
