While the videos do not capture the moment of the shooting, they do document the chase leading up to it, with multiple cameras along North Wayside Drive and Canal Street tracking the van and its pursuers. At a food mart located on North Wayside Drive, Salgado's van is seen speeding past, closely followed by two dark SUVs.

A gas station camera positioned a few blocks south recorded the next segment of the chase. Salgado's van makes a sharp left turn, hitting a curb, while an unmarked ICE SUV closely trails behind. Footage from a nearby homeowner also captured the pursuit, showing the unmarked vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road as it pursued Salgado's van.

Road conditions played a crucial role in the events captured on camera, as a construction zone had reduced Canal Street to two lanes, limiting space for the vehicles involved. Another camera at a medical clinic recorded the ICE SUV appearing to maneuver in front of Salgado's van, without any visible emergency lights.

Later footage from the gas station shows Salgado's van re-entering the frame. The zoomed-in video reveals ICE agents approaching the passenger side of the vehicle, where they can be seen removing an individual and taking them to the ground. According to Salgado's family and local officials, three men who were passengers in the van were detained by ICE.
