Strengthening Discipline in Paramilitary Forces

A significant administrative directive has emerged concerning the country's paramilitary forces, emphasizing stricter adherence to discipline and conduct codes. The Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force, G.P. Singh, has issued instructions to all senior officials, stating that no personnel on duty should share or disseminate materials related to protests against government orders.

This directive was sent out on Tuesday morning to officials at various levels, including heads of offices, department heads, commanding officers, deputy inspectors general, and inspectors general. Notably, the directive underscores a policy of zero tolerance.

Recent discussions and criticisms regarding the new Central Armed Police Forces Act of 2026 have reportedly led to some discontent among certain officials and personnel, prompting this action.

The directive clearly states that any serving officer who shares or supports protest-related content, particularly on digital or social media platforms, may face disciplinary actions such as suspension. Additionally, all such posts are to be removed immediately. Currently, the focus of these initial actions is on personnel actively serving.

It is noteworthy that there have been reports of family members participating in protests at various locations, raising concerns among top leadership. Efforts are underway to identify such cases.

In response to this situation, G.P. Singh emphasized that this is a uniformed force with its own rules and discipline, which must be adhered to by all. He clarified that actions will always be taken in accordance with the regulations.

According to available information, senior officials have also been tasked with monitoring the activities of their subordinates and taking immediate action in case of any violations. This directive indicates a more stringent implementation of previously issued advisories.

It is important to note that under government service rules, no government employee is permitted to publicly criticize the policies and decisions of the central or state governments. Therefore, this step is seen as crucial for maintaining discipline, unity, and an official stance within the force.
