It is alleged that Priyanka conspired with her lover, Kamlesh Purohit, to orchestrate her husband's murder, paying a sum of one lakh for the act. Following the incident, Priyanka attempted to portray it as a robbery.

She demanded the death penalty for Priyanka and her lover.
