Significant Revelations in the TCS BPO Case
Investigative agencies have made new revelations regarding the alleged sexual assault and religious coercion linked to the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) BPO in Nashik. These disclosures were presented while opposing the anticipatory bail plea of one of the main accused, Nida Khan, who remains missing. During a closed hearing at the Nashik court on Monday, special public prosecutor Ajay Misra stated that investigators have uncovered crucial leads in the case and argued that it is essential to interrogate Khan in custody for further investigation.
Allegations Against Nida Khan
Among the complaints filed at the Deolali police station, one woman accused Khan of hurting her religious sentiments. She also alleged that her colleague, Danish Sheikh, exploited her sexually under the pretense of marriage, and named another accused, Tausif Attar, for sexual harassment. The prosecution argued in court that the complainant claimed Khan allegedly changed her name to 'Haniya' and promised her a job in Malaysia while continuously pressuring her to convert her religion. Furthermore, it was alleged that Khan warned the complainant that failing to convert would bring misfortune to her family.
Investigation Insights
The special investigation team looking into the case reported that Khan allegedly provided the complainant with training on performing prayers at home and wearing a hijab. Khan is also accused of installing Islamic applications on the complainant's mobile phone and sharing religious content with her. The complainant revealed that she belongs to a Scheduled Caste community, prompting the police to invoke provisions of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act in this case.
