Nepal's Ambassador Promotes Tourism During Gujarat Visit

During a recent visit to Gujarat, Nepal's Ambassador Shankar Prasad Sharma met with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel to discuss enhancing tourism and collaboration in various sectors. The discussions highlighted Gujarat's growth as a manufacturing hub and its appeal as a tourist destination. Additionally, the ambassador inspected an international motor bridge under construction at the India-Nepal border, which is set to be completed by December. This visit underscores the strengthening ties between Nepal and India, particularly in tourism and infrastructure development.
 

Meeting with Gujarat Chief Minister

Nepal's Ambassador to India, Shankar Prasad Sharma, visited Gujarat to enhance tourism ties and met with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar. An official statement confirmed the meeting. According to the Gujarat Chief Minister's office, the ambassador praised the world-class tourist destinations developed in Gujarat under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They engaged in extensive discussions about collaboration in tourism, information technology, water energy, manufacturing, and education sectors.


Gujarat's Growth as a Manufacturing Hub

The Chief Minister highlighted that Gujarat has emerged as a manufacturing hub under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, positioning itself to lead in emerging sectors such as semiconductors and artificial intelligence. He further noted that attractions like the Statue of Unity, the White Desert, and spiritual sites such as Somnath, Dwarka, and Ambaji have made Gujarat a significant draw for tourists worldwide.


Inspection of International Motor Bridge

During the meeting, key officials were present, including the Chief Minister's Principal Secretary Sanjeev Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Industry Department Mamta Verma, and Industry Commissioner P. Swaroop, along with members of the Nepalese delegation. Meanwhile, Ambassador Sharma, along with his team, inspected the international motor bridge being constructed at the India-Nepal border in the Dharchula area of Uttarakhand on Friday. Speaking to the media, he mentioned that the bridge is nearly complete, with road construction ongoing, expected to finish by the end of December.
