NEET UG 2026 Exam Details

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is preparing to administer the NEET UG 2026 exam this Sunday, scheduled from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (IST). Comprehensive measures have been established to facilitate a seamless and equitable examination process.

Candidates eligible for additional time, particularly those in the PwD/PwBD categories, will be permitted to continue until 6:00 p.m.

This year's NEET (UG) is witnessing unprecedented participation, with around 22.79 lakh candidates registered. The exam will be conducted in pen-and-paper format across 551 cities in India and 14 international locations, utilizing over 5,432 centres, making it one of the largest entrance tests worldwide.

To ensure effective management, the NTA has deployed a significant administrative and security framework. A total of 674 city coordinators are overseeing the operations, complemented by more than 6,000 observers for independent monitoring. Additionally, centre superintendents, invigilators, local administrations, and police forces are actively engaged, particularly in the secure handling of sensitive materials.

Candidates must arrive at their designated centres between 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Entry gates will close promptly at 1:30 p.m., and late arrivals will not be accommodated. Those dressed in traditional or religious attire, or wearing full-sleeved clothing, are encouraged to arrive early to facilitate thorough security checks.

According to the guidelines, candidates are required to bring a printed admit card, a valid original photo ID, and two passport-sized photographs for attendance verification. Only specific items are allowed inside the examination hall, including a transparent water bottle. Diabetic candidates may also carry sugar tablets or fruits like bananas, apples, or oranges.

Strict restrictions are enforced against mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, calculators, wallets, jewelry, metallic items, and food packets.

The NTA has urged candidates to confirm their exam centre address using the admit card rather than relying solely on map applications, which may provide inaccurate locations. Travel and weather advisories have been issued to assist candidates in planning their journeys.

Reiterating its dedication, the NTA has assured that the examination will be conducted with utmost integrity, transparency, and efficiency, with the collaboration of state governments, union territories, and local authorities across the country.
