NEET-UG 2026 Re-Exam Scheduled: Refund Process Now Open for Candidates
Refund Facility Activated for NEET-UG Candidates
New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has launched a refund option for students who participated in the NEET-UG 2026 exam that was cancelled. Candidates who took the test on May 3 can now enter their bank details on the official site to reclaim their examination fees.
As per the official announcement, the refund feature is accessible on the NEET-UG 2026 registration portal. Students who registered for the exam can log in with their application credentials to find the specific refund link and complete their request.
To process the refund, applicants must provide key banking information, including the account holder's name, bank name, account number, and IFSC code. Additionally, candidates may upload a scanned copy of a cancelled cheque to ensure the accuracy of their submitted details.
The NTA has emphasized that once the bank information is submitted, it will be considered final, and no changes will be permitted afterward. Candidates are urged to double-check all details before finalizing their submission.
The deadline for submitting bank information for refunds is set for May 27, 2026, at 11:50 P.M.
This refund initiative follows the cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 exam due to allegations of irregularities and a leak of the question paper. The situation raised significant concerns among students and parents nationwide, prompting multiple investigations, including one by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Originally, the NEET-UG 2026 exam was held on May 3 for admissions into undergraduate medical programs across India. However, it was annulled after reports indicated that certain individuals had illicitly accessed the question paper prior to the exam and sold it to candidates.
So far, 11 individuals have been arrested in connection with this case.
In light of the cancellation, the NTA has announced that the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination will take place on June 21, from 2:00 P.M. to 5:15 P.M. (IST), which includes time for examination procedures.
Candidates are encouraged to frequently check the official NTA website for updates regarding the refund process and the re-examination schedule.
