NEET-UG 2026 Mock Drill Conducted Nationwide for Smooth Re-Examination
Nationwide Mock Drill for NEET-UG 2026
In preparation for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduates (NEET-UG) 2026 re-examination, a mock drill is being conducted across the country on Saturday. This initiative aims to ensure that the examination is held in a smooth, secure, and transparent manner, as confirmed by officials.
The National Testing Agency (NTA), located in the national capital, has heightened security measures at its office. The re-examination is scheduled for June 21, taking place from 2 PM to 5:15 PM using pen-and-paper format.
Examination Details and Security Arrangements
Over 22.79 lakh candidates are expected to participate in the exam, which will be conducted in 551 cities across India and 14 international locations. Officials have stated that extensive arrangements have been made to ensure the examination runs smoothly and without interruptions.
The nationwide mock drill aims to assess the readiness of examination centers and improve coordination among various agencies involved in the process.
Security Measures in Place
As part of the security exercise, the Indian Air Force will airlift question papers to 18 nodal centers located in different state capitals. MI-17 helicopters will be utilized to transport the papers under strict security protocols.
Once the question papers arrive at the designated centers, their security will be managed by central paramilitary forces. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will oversee the security of the papers until the examination process is completed.
Mock Drill Timing and Restrictions
In Delhi alone, 97 examination centers have been established for the NEET re-exam, including all central schools and select schools run by the Delhi government.
The mock drill is set to commence at approximately 1:30 PM on Saturday at all centers. During this exercise, media personnel will not be permitted inside the examination venues.
Preventing Irregularities
These stringent security measures have been implemented to facilitate the smooth conduct of the NEET re-exam and to prevent incidents such as paper leaks, which caused controversies in previous examination cycles.
To further combat misinformation and the spread of leaked content, the central government has blocked Telegram until June 22.
Reporting Irregularities
The NTA has launched a dedicated portal where students and the public can report any suspicious activities related to the NEET re-exam. This includes claims of paper leaks, rumors, or attempts to disseminate false information.
Information submitted through the portal will be investigated by the agency to maintain the integrity of the examination process.
