NEET-SS 2025 Counseling Update: Registration Reopened Following Court Order
NEET-SS 2025 Counseling Process Resumes
The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), operating under the Ministry of Health, has retracted the notification dated August 3 regarding the second phase of counseling for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Super Specialty (NEET-SS) 2025. This decision comes in response to a directive from the Delhi High Court, which has permitted candidates to re-register and participate in the counseling process.
In an official notice, the MCC stated that this action was taken following the court's ruling in the case of Sunil and Others vs. Medical Counseling Committee (Writ Petition No. 11097/2026). The notice emphasized, “The court has allowed the petitioners to re-register and take part in the second phase of NEET-SS 2025 counseling.” Considering the court's observations and concerns, the competent authority decided to withdraw the notification issued on August 3 with immediate effect. Additionally, the MCC has released a revised counseling schedule.
According to the updated schedule, the portal for seat surrender will remain open for all candidates until 4 PM on August 7. The new registration and option filling process for the second phase will recommence on August 9 at 10 AM. The detailed revised schedule can be found on the MCC's official website. This decision to reopen the registration process for NEET-SS 2025 counseling was made following the intervention of the Delhi High Court.
