NEET PG 2025 Exam Postponed Following Supreme Court Directive

The NEET PG 2025 exam has been postponed due to a Supreme Court directive requiring it to be held in a single shift. The National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences will announce new dates soon. This decision aims to ensure fairness and transparency in the examination process, addressing concerns about discrepancies in difficulty levels between two shifts. NEET PG is crucial for medical graduates seeking admission to postgraduate programs in India.

NEET PG 2025 Exam Update

The National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced the postponement of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2025. This decision comes in response to directives from the Supreme Court, which mandated that the examination should be conducted in a single shift rather than two. Consequently, the NEET PG 2025, originally scheduled for June 15, 2025, has been delayed.

To facilitate the organization of the NEET PG 2025 in a single shift, additional examination centers will need to be arranged. The new dates for the exam will be announced shortly. NEET PG serves as a national-level entrance examination for medical graduates seeking admission to postgraduate courses such as MD, MS, and PG diploma programs. This exam is conducted by the National Medical Examination Board (NBEMS).

Previously, a bench led by Justice Vikram Nath instructed the relevant authorities to ensure that the exam is held in one shift, emphasizing the need for full transparency and secure centers. The bench, which included Justices Sanjay Kumar and N.V. Anjaria, noted that conducting the exam in two shifts could lead to discrepancies. The court stated, “The difficulty or simplicity level of any two question papers cannot be deemed equivalent.” It further mentioned that normalization could only be applied in exceptional cases and should not be a regular practice each year.
