NEET Paper Leak Case: Judicial Custody Extended for Key Accused Until June 15

In a significant development in the NEET paper leak case, a Delhi court has extended the judicial custody of five accused individuals until June 15. The CBI's ongoing investigation has led to the arrest of 13 suspects, with a re-examination scheduled for June 21 following the cancellation of the original test due to allegations of malpractice. This case has raised serious concerns about the integrity of the examination process, prompting legal actions and court proceedings.
 

Judicial Proceedings in NEET Paper Leak Case


New Delhi: A court in Delhi has decided to prolong the judicial custody of five individuals implicated in the NEET paper leak scandal until June 15.


Special Judge Ajay Gupta granted the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) request to extend the custody of Mangilal Khatik, Vikas Biwal, and Dinesh Biwal, who were apprehended in Jaipur, along with Yash Yadav from Gurugram and Dhananjay Lokhande from Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra.


Previously, these individuals were remanded to judicial custody until June 2.


In a related development, Yadav's attorney reported that the court has permitted his client to access study materials for the upcoming NEET exam.


On the preceding Monday, three educators, including physics lecturer Manisha Sanjay Hawaldar, pediatrician Dr. Manoj Shirure, and physics teacher Tejas Harshadkumar Shah, were also placed in judicial custody for 14 days.


To date, the CBI has detained a total of 13 suspects in connection with this case.


Following allegations of a paper leak, the National Testing Agency (NTA) annulled the NEET exam conducted on May 3.


A re-examination is now set for June 21.
