NDA Seat Sharing Talks Yet to Begin, Says Tamil Nadu BJP Chief

Tamil Nadu BJP President Nainar Nagendran announced that discussions on seat sharing within the NDA have not yet started and will only occur after the election schedule is released. A significant rally is planned for March 11 in Tiruchirappalli, with expectations of over five lakh attendees, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Nagendran also addressed inquiries about coalition dynamics and emphasized that any questions regarding the Tamilaga Vetrik Kazhagam's potential involvement in the NDA should be directed to the party itself. Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu Congress President confirmed ongoing discussions with the DMK regarding seat sharing agreements.
 

NDA Seat Distribution Discussions Pending

The Tamil Nadu BJP President, Nainar Nagendran, stated on Monday that discussions regarding seat allocation within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have not commenced yet and will only take place after the announcement of the election schedule. A significant rally for the NDA is set to occur on March 11 in Tiruchirappalli, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to attend. Prior to this event, Nagendran, along with former minister C. Vijayabhaskar, visited Tiruchirappalli to inspect and finalize the rally venue.


 


After the inspection, Nagendran informed reporters that the NDA rally in Tiruchirappalli is anticipated to be a large-scale event, expecting over five lakh attendees. He mentioned that the final arrangements would determine whether the meeting would take place at the private site in Punjappur or at the G Corner Ground in the city. Regarding the coalition matters, he clarified that discussions on seat sharing within the NDA have not yet started and will be considered only after the Election Commission announces the voting dates.


 


When questioned about AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami's visit to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi, Nagendran remarked that the purpose of the meeting was known only to the two leaders. In response to inquiries about whether the Tamilaga Vetrik Kazhagam (TVK) would join the NDA coalition, he suggested that such questions should be directed to the concerned party. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Congress President K. Selva Perunthagai clarified on Monday that an agreement regarding seat sharing between Congress and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) would be reached after discussions, emphasizing that there is no confusion between the two parties.
