Inauguration of Naval Models Set for May 11


Dharamshala, May 8 – The Army Engineers have successfully installed impressive models of a ship and a submarine at the Himachal Pradesh State War Memorial, enhancing the site’s tribute to the nation’s armed forces.


The models were presented to the War Memorial by the Vice Chief of Naval Staff, realizing a vision that originated nearly five years ago with a request made to the former Chief of Naval Staff. This initiative was brought to fruition with the assistance of the GOC 9 Corps, while Mai Amarjit and his team from the local Engineer Regiment executed the installation swiftly.


Col. K.K.S. Dadwal (Veteran), who serves as the President of the HP State War Memorial, expressed his appreciation for the collaborative effort, highlighting the models’ significance in recognizing the naval contributions alongside those of the Army and Air Force.


The inaugural ceremony is set for May 11, 2026, from 10 AM to 12 Noon. The event will feature:



  • Wreath laying at the War Memorial

  • Formal inauguration of the naval models


The Vice Chief of Naval Staff will attend as the Chief Guest, emphasizing the Navy’s lasting connection with the memorial and the local community.
