National Service Scheme Camp Kicks Off at Government College Bharmour

Bharmour – A week-long National Service Scheme (NSS) camp began at Government College Bharmour on December 3, with Principal Dr. Hemant Pal officially opening the event by lighting a ceremonial lamp. He urged the volunteers to embrace teamwork and commit themselves to community service.
Volunteer Participation and Learning
This year, 25 volunteers are taking part in the camp. Throughout the week, they will explore various topics, including lifestyle and hygiene, environmental protection, drug-free living, and community development.
Leadership and Coordination
- The camp is being managed by NSS Program Officer Mr. Sugreev Kumar, who is responsible for all logistical arrangements.
- Dr. Harnam Singh was invited as the chief guest for the inaugural ceremony.
- Faculty members present included Mr. Swaroop Kumar, Dr. Rajendra Singh, Mr. Vivek Kumar, Mr. Naresh Kumar, Mr. Vishal Ahir, Mr. Thukton, and Dr. Arvind Kumar.
Community Engagement Activities
The camp, running from December 3 to December 9, kicked off its first major activity on December 4, when NSS volunteers conducted a cleanliness drive at the historic Chaurasi temple complex, collecting and disposing of waste as part of their initiative.
During this event, Dr. Rajendra Singh delivered a keynote address, emphasizing the significance of cleanliness and social responsibility.
Objectives of the NSS Camp
The primary goal of this seven-day NSS camp is to foster social awareness, discipline, and a spirit of service among students. It showcases the college’s dedication to developing responsible citizens through hands-on learning and community involvement.
