Namsai District Achieves Top Rank in Financial Inclusion and Skill Development

Namsai District's Remarkable Achievement

Itanagar, March 21: Namsai district in Arunachal Pradesh has proudly claimed the top position in the "financial inclusion and skill development" category as part of the aspirational districts initiative by NITI Aayog, earning a reward of Rs 3 crore for this accomplishment.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein took to social media on Friday to celebrate this achievement, calling it "a moment of immense pride for Arunachal Pradesh" and emphasizing the district's advancements under this national development program.

"Namsai district has achieved the 1st rank in 'Financial Inclusion & Skill Development' sector under the Aspirational Districts Programme of NITI Aayog," he stated.

He further noted, "In recognition of this outstanding achievement, the district has been awarded Rs 3 crore."

Mein, who represents the district, credited this success to the collaborative efforts of both the administration and the local community.

"This milestone reflects the tireless efforts of our administration, departmental officers, grassroots workers, and the resilient people of Namsai," he remarked.

He encouraged all stakeholders to maintain their commitment to development, stating, "Let us continue striving for excellence and transforming lives across every corner of our beautiful state."

Officials explained that the aspirational districts program, initiated by NITI Aayog in 2018, aims to swiftly uplift the country's most underdeveloped districts by concentrating on critical areas such as health and nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources, financial inclusion and skill development, as well as basic infrastructure.

The program monitors district performance using real-time data and promotes competitive and cooperative federalism to enhance socio-economic growth.

Districts demonstrating significant progress in specific sectors receive performance-based incentives to bolster development efforts and improve service delivery at the grassroots level.
