N Rangasamy Takes Office Again


Chennai: On Wednesday, seasoned political figure N Rangasamy, the founder of the AINRC, was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Puducherry for the fifth time.


Alongside him, two other ministers were also sworn in: Malladi Krishan Rao from the regional party and A Namassivayam representing the BJP, as part of the AINRC-led NDA government.


The oath of office and secrecy was administered by Lt Governor K Kailashnathan. Rangasamy took his oath invoking God, while Rao, who represents Yanam—a Puducherry enclave in Andhra Pradesh—took his oath in Telugu.


Notable figures present at the ceremony included BJP national president Nitin Nabin and senior leader BL Santhosh.


The NDA coalition secured victory in the Union Territory during the elections held on April 9, leading to Rangasamy's appointment as Chief Minister by President Droupadi Murmu.
