Mystery Surrounds Disappearance of Digital Communications Manager in Ranchi
Tragic Discovery of Missing Individual
Ranchi. The body of 31-year-old Devpalik Gupta, a digital communications manager for the Jan Suraj Party, has been found near railway tracks in Ranchi under mysterious circumstances. Gupta, an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), was traveling on the Ranchi-Patna Jan Shatabdi Express with two friends when he suddenly went missing.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rakesh Ranjan reported that Gupta's body was discovered on Tuesday afternoon between the tracks of Ranchi and Muri Junction. Authorities have initiated a thorough investigation to determine the cause of death, and the body has been sent to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi for an autopsy. The IIMC Alumni Association expressed profound sorrow over his passing, confirming that Gupta's brother identified the body found near the railway tracks.
According to his colleague Gautam Kumar, the trio boarded the Jan Shatabdi Express from Ranchi railway station around 2:25 PM on Monday. About ten minutes after the train departed, Gupta informed his friends that he would go to the pantry car to get some refreshments. When he did not return for an extended period, his friends searched the pantry car and the entire train but found no trace of him. After the train stopped at Muri Junction, they filed a complaint with the Government Railway Police (GRP), prompting a search operation.
