Mumbai Police Investigates Attack on Tiger Shroff Linked to Lawrence Bishnoi Gang
Details of the Attack on Tiger Shroff
In Mumbai, law enforcement has requested custody of three suspects involved in an attack on actor Tiger Shroff. The police informed the court that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang orchestrated the assault to gain financial benefits, assert dominance, and instill fear among the public.
However, a person named Anil Pandit claimed in a social media post that Shroff was targeted due to his close ties with Salman Khan and for ignoring threats from the gang. The police presented a different motive for the attack in court.
Police Findings and Suspects
According to the police, the motives behind this incident are similar to previous cases involving shootings aimed at Salman Khan, the murder of Baba Siddiqui, and a shooting incident outside Rohit Shetty's residence. The authorities indicated that such attacks are intended to create a climate of fear to facilitate extortion.
Custody Requested Until October 31
On Friday, the police presented Jatin Panchal, Sameer Khatri, and Ankit Khatak in court. All three were apprehended in Sonipat, Haryana. The police are seeking custody to investigate their roles, connections with Anil Pandit, and how they procured weapons. They also mentioned that the suspects had previously surveilled the residences of other influential individuals in Mumbai. There are suspicions that the suspects planned to flee abroad following the attack.
Defense Opposition to Police Custody
The defense attorney, Ajinkya Mirgal, opposed the police's request for custody, arguing that evidence had already been collected from the hotel room where the suspects allegedly practiced shooting. He contended that the investigation could proceed without the need for police custody by seizing the suspects' electronic devices.
Investigation into Accidental Gunfire
The police also informed the court about an alleged misfire incident during the shooting practice at the hotel. They emphasized the necessity of interrogating the suspects to further investigate this occurrence. The court has remanded the three suspects into police custody until October 28.
