New Delhi: The southwest monsoon is expected to progress further into various regions, including parts of the North Arabian Sea, Gujarat, and the remaining areas of Haryana and Punjab, as well as additional sections of Rajasthan over the next four days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday.

The IMD's latest forecast indicates that isolated areas may experience extremely heavy rainfall, particularly in the Konkan and Gujarat regions from July 4-7, in Madhya Maharashtra from July 4-6, in Saurashtra and Odisha from July 4-5, and in West Madhya Pradesh on Saturday.

The department noted that a "well-marked low-pressure area is situated over the northwest Bay of Bengal."
