Prime Minister Modi's Remarks on Student Protests

Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement expressing a desire to forgive students who allegedly made derogatory comments about him, Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, questioned whether Modi would also apologize for the violent police response during a recent student protest.

In a social media video, Dipke expressed hope that if Modi were to release another video, it would include an apology for the police's actions during the July 20 march to Parliament.

He further claimed that police brutality included incidents where young girls were struck on the head.

Dipke alleged that female protesters faced severe mistreatment, including having their clothing torn by male officers and being struck inappropriately.

In his earlier video, Modi referred to the students as 'mischievous children' whose language was unbecoming of a civilized society.

He urged the public to exercise restraint, emphasizing that chasing student protesters through the courts would not resolve underlying issues.

Modi stated, 'I want to forgive them. These children belong to us, and we must guide them back to the right path, even if it is challenging for those who have been misled.'

This video was Modi's fifth in a week, following the booking of a 15-year-old girl in Noida for allegedly making inappropriate comments about him during youth protests at Jantar Mantar.

An FIR was filed against Ruchika Singh, citing various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita related to public mischief and defamation, based on a complaint from a Ghaziabad resident.

On the same day, Singh publicly apologized for her remarks regarding the Prime Minister.

The Cockroach Janta Party condemned the 'misuse of criminal machinery' against Singh, calling for an end to the harassment of young individuals.

Additionally, the Hyderabad Police initiated cases against the head of Meta India and several accounts on Facebook and Instagram for sharing allegedly objectionable content about Modi during the protests.

The protests, which demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged exam irregularities, saw thousands participating in Delhi after police forcibly removed activist Sonam Wangchuk from a hunger strike.

The police response to the protest was severe, with reports of injuries from lathi charges, tear gas, and pellet guns, escalating the agitation across the country.
